In Loving Memory of Carol Savino

It is with profound sadness that we share the unexpected passing of our beloved founder and coach, Carol Savino, last evening.

Carol dedicated her life to building the Mass Drifters into the respected and caring softball community it is today. Over nearly six decades, her leadership, passion, and unwavering commitment shaped not only the game but also the character of countless young athletes. Carol’s legacy is felt in every player she mentored, every family she welcomed, and every life she touched. Her impact will endure far beyond the field.

In honor of Carol’s memory and out of respect for her family and the community grieving this tremendous loss, the Mass Drifters will complete the current season, which concludes later this month. All current softball operations, with exception of the upcoming tryouts scheduled for next week, will continue as planned - Carol would have absolutely wanted it that way. We will provide further updates as we determine the path forward for our organization in the weeks ahead.

On behalf of the entire Mass Drifters family, we extend our deepest condolences to Carol’s loved ones. We invite our players, families, and alumni to join us in celebrating her remarkable life and legacy.
